Show Team practices will be every Tuesday from 3-5 pm. Starting Tuesday, March 30th. Please make every effort to be to as many practices as possible since we will be learning the routines very quickly.

Your $50 Show Team fee will be due with your March tuition.

Yes, I know, it's about time I updated the blog! Here are all the costume prices and some pix. Just some reminders about the fundraiser... Orders are Due Oct 12th for Monday Students and Oct 15th for Thursday Students. You need to have your money in by that day. Please remember to write ONE CHECK to Turning Pointe for your total. Pizzas will be delivered on Oct 27th you will need to arrange to have them picked up at the studio that day.

I am only going to list the costume totals for each class. I sent home a detailed list of all the items you will be getting so if you have questions I would be glad to give you another list.

Minis $50

Minis need black ballet shoes ($12 from me or you can get your own)

All other classes will need nude foot undeez ($16)

Jazz Costume $45 for child sizes

$50 for XL child and adult sizes

Lyrical costume $25

Tights $5 regular tights

$15 for a full body tight

Here are your times for the first competition. Please remember that once the competition gets started it will run quickly and quite possibly ahead of schedule. I have listed your arrival time as well as the approximate performance time. These times will change so please arrive with plenty of time to spare. My nerves thank you in advance!

The competition starts at 8:30 am this year & awards will be at 1:15 & 6:45. If you have warm-ups please wear them to & from competition & to awards.

Performance Hair & make-up instructions

Hi ladies!

I have listed a brief reminder of hair and make-up instructions for performance.
Everyone needs to wear make-up. At least mascara & blush. Elite need to have black eyeliner (top & bottom) and pink/brown eyeshadow. We will all wear the same lipstick so please come with clean lips. Remember... no glitter for competition.

Please remember that you need to wear your costume as it was given to you. Do not alter in any way unless you have discussed with me. Also, do not wear anything under your costume other than tights &/or a bra. NO UNDERWEAR!

Hair instructions:
Hair for everyone needs to be SLICKED back with plenty of product. No wispys or loose hair. Also, please use ONLY black ponytail holders & if you use bobby pins, they must match your hair.

Mini's - Messy bun exactly in middle of head across from ears. Place the flower on the right of the bun. bangs are ok.
Smalls - Messy bun in middle of head across from ears. Marabou piece goes around the bun & secure in place. No bangs!
All-Stars - One straight pony exactly across from your ears. Your hair needs to be sleek & straight, no waves or curls & NO BANGS! Scrunchie around the pony & secured in place.
Pre-Elite - Low messy bun exactly 1 inch from the bottom of your head. NO BANGS!
Elite - Small center pouf secured with a clear elastic not bobby pins. Low straight pony exactly 1 inch from the bottom of your head. The pony needs to be sleek & straight, no waves or curls. NO BANGS!

Tuacahn Trip Summer 2008

I took some of the Elite girls to "High School Musical" at Tuacahn in August 2008. It was so much fun to spend time with them and they really enjoyed the show and especially meeting the actors and getting autographs!

FALL REGISTRATION

Registration is now underway for fall classes. I am so excited for our new developments this year. I have hired a new teacher to help us with technique her name is Megan Sherman and she comes to us from Rock Springs, Wyoming where she owned her own studio. I know everyone will love Megan and I am excited for the new insight and ideas she can bring to our studio. Also, we will miss Shelby so much but we have a new student teacher, Maggie Morrison. Maggie is a great dancer with a fun, bubbly personality. These new teachers are going to be an incredible asset this year!

Classes will be Monday and Tuesday, same as always. Day time classes for minis and after school for everyone else.

If you didn't pre-register, please call me ASAP. Classes are really filling up!

Another different thing this year is that students will be placed in classes based on ability rather than age. If I place students in Pre-elite rather than Elite, it doesn't mean you aren't just as good a dancer it just means I feel like you need a little more technique and confidence to be able to complete at the Elite level. Placement exams will be after school on Monday, August 18th. Please be there!

Summer Technique Classes

Summer Technique classes will begin Monday, July 7th.
9-10 am for 1st-4th and beginning students
10-11:30 am for 5th & up and intermediate students
Cost is $20 per month and will be held through July and August
Regular classes will begin again in September

Group Pictures will be on Thursday, May 15th at 7pm at the City Park. They are free of charge. Please make every possible effort to be there so I can have all of you in the group pictures for display at the studio. You need to wear your costume, but you can do your hair however you want.

Spring Recital 2008
